None of us is perfect, but that’s not a reason to coast when it comes to being our best selves.

I’ve found it helpful as I’m falling asleep to review the day: just me with me.

Did I do everything I could to help others while balancing my self-care? Was I kind to people even while I was stressed? Did I put myself in someone else’s shoes to see situations from their perspective, not just my own?

Some days are better than others. When I do well, I take a moment to compliment myself, “Good job there!” When I fall short, I think about my expectations. Were they reasonable or do they need adjusting? If they’re reasonable, I ask myself why I fell short and how can I do better next time around?

How about you? How do you keep optimizing your self awareness and better behaviors?
