Many of us have been compelled by recent events to step outside our business personas to say what’s on our minds. As always, I’m doing this with the very best intentions.…
I’m patriotic. Not nationalistic, but patriotic.
I believe the United States has the potential to model human decency, equal rights, and advancement for all. We are not doing that right now.
No matter where you sit politically, we need to recognize the myriad of challenges facing our nation right now go beyond liberal and conservative positions. The foundations of our democracy and our freedoms are being threatened like never before.
There are agendas actively working to pit us against each other with fake news, extreme social media comments, and now, AI-generated content designed to push us further to the left or right.
We need to find ways to get involved so our voices are heard and our vision for the country can be realized.
Bravery comes in all shapes and sizes. Let’s be brave.

Kindness is Contagious, Pass It Along: What’s a Lot?
Everything is relative, even kindness.…
I remember when I was younger, and we didn’t have much money. I thought luxury was having a two-story house. I thought those tiny little shrimp in the Sau-Sea shrimp cocktails in the frozen food aisle were the extent of shrimp cocktails—I was blown away the first time I saw jumbo shrimp.
Life has been good to me and my perspectives on “a lot” and “a little” have changed.
I mention this because what may seem like nothing to you or me could mean the world of change for someone else.
If you are in a place where a $25 donation is not a big deal, please consider making a donation where it could make a big difference. And if we collectively put our attention to that, imagine all the lives we can lift up.
Here are some suggestions for where a $25 ripple can become a part of a powerful wave of change:
- Doctors Without Borders
- Pay off a kid’s lunch debt locally (contact the school of your choice) or through organizations including All for Lunch or School Lunch Fairy
- St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
- No Kid Hungry
- Buy some Girl Scout Cookies (If you don’t eat sweets, donate them.)
- National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
